From this strong firebase the Chapter utilises a high number of Dreadnoughts, Assault Marines and Terminators in a tactic described as "Hammer and Anvil", with the main troops forming the Anvil that the Assault elements, the Hammer, cast and destroy their foes upon. The Chapter places a great emphasis on the use of standard Tactical Squads backed up by Devastator Squads armed with the most powerful weaponry in the Chapter's possession. The Chapter's leaders believe that this allows a greater flexibility, a greater melding of the forces at their disposal and a greater chance for the aspirants to gain enough combat experience to become fully fledged Marines. The Shadow Wraith Chapter loosely follows the Codex Astartes, but deviates in that the standard Company does not exist - instead, each fleet based Company incorporates Terminator and Scout Squads into their standard forces.

Shadow Wraiths Imperial Space Marine Chapter Has a very close bond with the Steel Legion This causes some jealousy within the battle force, and the Super Heavies carry an alternative camo scheme to set themselves 'aside'. The Chimeras have even known to speed across the battlefield to rescue the crews of disabled tanks.Ħ99.M36, built up to lend help to the Armageddon system, hence using local infantryĪrmaggedon, in which the Regiment was raised for, it didn't make it back to the Eye of Terror campaign, tho the Super Heavy Detachment was being refurbished in Cadia and fought valiantly in the campaign. Motto: 'Machen Wir' (Consider it done, we acheive)ĭue to the Chimera crews being rotated from the tank crews, they specialise in all arms battle, giving a unique system of covering all arcs of fire. You can very easily recruit a rank 1 lord and then recruit every regiment of renown in one turn, which really just feels like gaming the system.Unusual in the fact it mans Chimeras as part of the force, bringing in Infantry from other units to fill the seats, tho the Crew of three belong to the 669th. Someone pointed out that regiments can be used more like an "emergency garrison" to defend a settlement.

I also think that regiment recruitment should be tied to individual Lord's ranks, rather than the rank of the most experienced Lord. The AI really abuses this in campaign too armies that suffer huge casualties in one turn suddenly come back at you on the next turn with 5 or 6 full-strength Regiments of Renown, and simply re-recruit those same regiments if defeated again.
HOW TO RECRUIT REGIMENTS OF RENOWN FULL
Regiments can simply be disbanded if they've suffered heavy casualties and then immediately recruited again at full strength, which makes them feel more like spamable throwaway units than elite ones.

What I mean by this is once a Regiment has been disbanded by the player on the Campaign Map or has been wiped out in battle, there should be a 2 to 3 turn period (or longer) before they can be recruited again, similar to when a Lord or Agent is wounded or replaced. Like a lot of players I really enjoy using the Regiments of Renown, but I've noticed one or two things about their recruitment in particular that I think could be tweaked slightly.įirst, I think Regiments of Renown could benefit from a cooldown or timer to their recruitment. 2K A Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia.844 A Total War Saga: Fall of the Samurai.
